The Sales Operations Certificate

The Sales Operations Certificate is  a program to equip you for high-demand roles in sales, whether you want to be closing a deal with customers or tracking a company’s sales progress behind the scenes. You’ll learn how to use technology to coordinate and manage the outcomes of a sales process and will be equipped with skills in customer relationship management technology, Salesforce, email marketing and spreadsheet software. You will be prepared for roles in sales operations, sales development and sales management and will learn how to use technology to facilitate sales across any type of growing business. No prior experience is required. Expect to spend 10-12 hours a week on coursework and projects and receive individualized support and career coaching to help you land a new job along the way.

Course 1: Customer Relationship Management for Business

In this course, you’ll learn about customer relationship management (CRM) software for business and what they can be used for.

 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Define the types of data that are integral to the sales process.
  • Set up a Salesforce Trailhead account.
  • Understand the importance of tracking data and maintaining data hygiene.
  • Identify relevant business & stakeholder information and configure reports to capture relevant information.

Course 2: Applied Business Solutions with Salesforce

In this course, you’ll learn to extract key information from a business process and use spreadsheets to perform data analysis.

 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Explain the importance of stakeholder alignment and identify the roles and responsibilities of common Salesforce business stakeholders.
  • Extract and summarize key information from business process interviews with stakeholders, including goals, steps, pain points, inefficiencies, ideal processes, and opportunities for further learning.
  • Use flowchart software to create process maps based on a business scenario and identify common pitfalls of the process mapping structure.
  • Use spreadsheet tools to perform data analysis and apply specific formulas and functions.

In this optional third course, you’ll learn best practices for creating email campaigns to drive marketing and sales.

  • Recognize best practices and understand the lifecycle of an email campaign.

  • Communicate insights and make data-backed recommendations for how to improve a business process.

Can I apply to this program before receiving my Career Choice voucher?

Yes. We encourage you to fill out the enrollment form on this site before you request your voucher. Once we have reviewed your information, we will send a confirmation code that you will need for your voucher. If you need help completing and submitting your voucher to Amazon, you can contact an enrollment advisor at 602-429-0451 or  for assistance.

How do I get my voucher for the Sales Operations Certificate?

  • To apply for your tuition assistance voucher from Career Choice and view all eligibility requirements, please visit: www.amazoncareerchoice.com and login.
  • Select Explore Pathways —> Start Your Application, then complete the checklist and continue.
  • Select Administration & Business Services, then Sales Rep – Tech, then the school name PATHSTREAM. Then choose “Sales Representative” with the correct start and end dates.
  • Once your application is approved, Pathstream will provide you with a confirmation code that you can use to obtain a voucher.
  • Check your email for a PDF of the voucher once you’ve completed the process. Then, please e-sign the voucher and submit it by email to . Our team will verify your voucher and send you further instructions on how to get started with the program.

When is the last day to request my voucher?

You can request your voucher until midnight on July 28th, ahead of the program starting on August 2nd. You must send Pathstream your voucher by July 29th.

What are the eligibility requirements?

You must be an Amazon employee for at least 90 days by August 2nd.

What is the schedule?

There are two required courses which will be open for 5 weeks with a 1-week grading period after each. There is an optional third course which will be available upon completion. You should expect to spend 10-12 hours per week completing your coursework. The program is flexibly-paced, meaning you can move as quickly or slowly as you’d like through each course, as long as you complete all sections and projects during the 5-week course period. We provide a suggested course schedule to help pace yourself through each course. Students who follow this schedule are more likely to earn the certificate and get more out of the course by spreading out their workload, and our instructors provide weekly nudges to keep you on track. As long as you submit all projects by the course end date, you can progress through the course at whatever pace works best for you! For example, you might do all your work over the weekend or space it out throughout the week.

Can I work full-time while enrolled in this program?

Yes, the entire course experience is online and can be completed on your own schedule as long as you work towards the deadlines set in each course. There are no set times or classes when you need to log in. Our courses are designed for working professionals, students, and parents!

What prerequisites do I need?

Students must have a high school degree prior to taking this program. No prior experience is required.

What kinds of jobs will this certificate prepare me for?

This program will give you the tech skills needed for a variety of jobs in sales including Sales Development Representative roles, Business Development Representative roles, Sales Operations Specialist roles, Customer Success Manager roles and more. This includes roles where you will be directly talking to customers and roles where you might spend more time behind the scenes doing research on new customers or tracking sales pipelines.  You will gain the skills needed for sales roles across many different types of companies including small businesses, tech companies, Fortune 500 companies and more.

What kinds of career support will I receive?

You will work individually with a career coach who will help you update your resume and LinkedIn profile to feature your new skills and past work experiences. They will help you identify exciting jobs to apply to and get ready for interviews. Pathstream’s Career Services team will also introduce you to recruiters and hiring partners who are looking to hire people with your skills.
