Course 1: Business Analytics Fundamentals

In this course, you’ll learn about business analytics. You’ll start to run analyses to discover patterns within data and develop data visualizations. You’ll also practice using spreadsheet software to find new insights.
 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Wrangle data using sorting and filtering, such as pivot tables and implement absolute and relative references.
  • Develop data visualizations including line charts, scatter charts, combination charts and sparklines.
  • Apply exploratory data analysis (EDA) to investigate data and discover patterns, check assumptions, and summarize the values within your data using visual representations.
  • Communicate recommendations and analysis insights to business stakeholders using Google Sheets & Google Slides.

Course 2: Data Visualization with Tableau

In this course, you’ll learn to visualize data using cutting-edge software called Tableau.

 

Learning Outcomes:

  • Learn to visualize data to communicate business insights.
  • Use Tableau Desktop’s Worksheet interface to classify, edit, and review data.
  • Apply design principles to develop compelling data visualizations.
  • Build a Tableau Story using interactive dashboards to report insights to business stakeholders.
  • Implement Tableau extracts to increase the performance of Tableau data visualizations, dashboards, and stories.

Course 3 (Optional): SQL for Analytics

In this optional third course, you’ll learn to use SQL, a programming language for data, to efficiently run analyses.

  • Build DML SQL queries using foundational SQL clauses.
  • Generate and modify new tables using DDL commands.
  • Create Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERD) to assess existing infrastructure of a relational database and normalize the relational database to the 3NF using MySQL Workbench.
  • Identify entity, domain and referential integrity and learn to apply each to their respective constraints.

What are the eligibility requirements?

You are eligible to participate in the program if you have been employed as a regular full-time (40+hours per week), reduced time (30+ hours per week), or part-time (20-29 hours per week) hourly L1-L4 blue badge employee for 90 continuous days by January 31st.

This includes all hourly non-exempt FC, CS, corporate, AWS, Amazon Fresh Stores, Amazon Books, Amazon 4-star, Amazon Pop Up, AmazonGo and certain retail and eligible subsidiary associates. Eligible subsidiaries include A9, A100, A2Z, Audible, Brilliance, ComiXology, CreateSpace, Fabric.com, Goodreads, Amazon Pharmacy, Shopbop, Ring, and Woot.

Can I apply to this program before submitting a Payment Request to Amazon Career Choice?

Yes. You can fill out the form on this site before you submit a Payment Request to Amazon Career Choice. When is the last day to request payment from Amazon?

You can request payment from Amazon Career Choice up until the course start date on January 26, 2023.

What is the refund policy?

You may cancel your enrollment until midnight on Monday, February 13th which is two weeks after the program starts. You can cancel your application before the payment status changes to ‘Payment Initiated’ or ‘Paid’. You can track the status of your application by navigating to the Homepage – > Your account – > Applications. Please inform our team at .

How do I contact Pathstream?

What is the schedule?

There are two required courses which will be open for 8 weeks with a 2-week grading period after each. There is an optional third course which will be available upon completion. You should expect to spend 10-12 hours per week completing your coursework. The program is flexibly-paced, meaning you can move as quickly or slowly as you’d like through each course, as long as you complete all sections and projects during the 8-week course period. We provide a suggested course schedule to help pace yourself through each course. Students who follow this schedule are more likely to earn the certificate and get more out of the course by spreading out their workload, and our instructors provide weekly nudges to keep you on track. As long as you submit all projects by the course end date, you can progress through the course at whatever pace works best for you! For example, you might do all your work over the weekend or space it out throughout the week.

Can I work full-time while enrolled in this program?

Yes, the entire course experience is online and can be completed on your own schedule as long as you work towards the deadlines set in each course. There are no set times or classes when you need to log in. Our courses are designed for working professionals, students, and parents!

What prerequisites do I need?

Students must have a high school degree prior to taking this program. No prior experience is required.

What kinds of jobs will this certificate prepare me for?

This program will give you the tech skills needed for a variety of jobs in data and business analytics including as Data Analyst, Business Analyst, Data Specialist, Operations Analyst, Marketing Analyst, Sales Analyst and more. You will gain the skills needed for roles across many different types of companies including small businesses, tech companies, Fortune 500 companies and more.

What kinds of career support will I receive?

You will work individually with a career coach who will help you update your resume and LinkedIn profile to feature your new skills and past work experiences. They will help you identify exciting jobs to apply to and get ready for interviews. Pathstream’s Career Services team will also introduce you to recruiters and hiring partners who are looking to hire people with your skills. These career coaches have helped other Amazon workers transition to data analyst jobs with leading companies making starting salaries of between $70k and $90k.
